The past two years I’ve studied water and healing throughout scripture. It has changed me and grown me in ways that were completely unexpected. There are so many ways in which water is used for the ritual of healing. Also the promise that living water comes from Jesus, and is freely given to us. He is our source of healing, and water, and yet chooses to partner with us so that we will also be a well watered garden and living water will come from us.
I think it’s so kind to have a Creator that still gave us the gift of nature. Green spaces and blue spaces have been proven to help with mental health and aid in healing of our minds and bodies. Reminding yourself of things you are grateful for has also been proven to help with mental health. Finding small parts of joy in our lives even when we are surrounded by chaos can help us keep moving. In this space I felt that the Lord was asking me to create spaces for Him to move. It felt like He was asking me to create a space for women to come and be still. To walk through the waters with a heart of gratitude. Allowing the Creator to be put back in his place. Giving space for the Spirit to move while walking through the waters. Taking a deep breath. Listening to the sounds of birds and the wind. Noticing how green the trees are. Taking a moment to create a crown out of ferns. Singing a song. Praying thankfulness. Feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable. Allowing the tears to come. All of that has taken place in these sessions. Are they magically healed when they leave? No, the waters are not healing them, but it is giving them a space away from all the noise, distractions, obligations to come as a daughter of the King and be with Him.
